Representatives of the New Forest Sewing for the NHS & Local Community Group, and Becton Rotary Club assembled once again at Oakhaven Hospice to donate £5,000 to the Hospice: the money arising from donations from the local community for the supply of PPE Gowns to Dentists and the Fire Service (£2,000) and Masks / Face Coverings to members of the public (£3,000).
Special thanks go to Emma McEwen who developed the heat sealing process for the gowns, enabling the production rate to meet demand; the ladies at Milford W.I. who made a large proportion of the masks; Becton Rotary for their logistical support, and the volunteers of the NF Sewing Group for achieving such a wonderful result.
Jill West, Community Fundraising Manager for Oakhaven, said “Oakhaven would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work and this wonderful donation which will help us continue making every moment matter for those under our care.”
